Mitcham Library, South Australia February 2023
Comprised of 21 embroidered story-telling panels this display brings a larger-then-life children's book into being.
Accompanying the embroidered words and pictures are 3D figures of the four main characters involved in the tale.
Mary Lou's Pom and Pum Poodlepod embroidery project was many, many months in the making and came as quite a surprise to her sister Ann, who wrote the original story about 40 years ago and had no idea anything was under development.
Another sister, Susan (who, apart from expertise in photography, can also keep a secret) transformed the embroidered artwork into vibrant print format, the "Pom and Pum Poodlepod" book, to bring the collection to completion.
The Mitcham Library's spacious entrance corridor provided a lovely setting for Pom and Pum's debut. Thank you!
A Limited Edition of the Pom and Pum Poodlepod book created from the photographed embroidery panels is available as a glossy hardback
